Media Integrity
Pax Memoria is a non-profit organization dedicated to capturing and humanizing environmental narratives in crises-affected areas. We focus on reviving the human element in digital memories while promoting participatory knowledge production and situated media literacy methods. We advocate for access to information and countering misinformation. We do so by co-creating a narrative that blends memory and fact-based journalism. Our goal is clear: upholding climate justice while countering misinformation, one story at a time.
Our Approach
We conduct ethnographic interviews with digital content producers to contextualise and humanise the environmental toll of conflicts and crises.
We promote grounded, participatory feminist approaches to youth media literacy and misinformation education.
We offer specialised training, personalised mentorship and localised open-source tools to enhance the skills and efforts of journalists, activists and human rights groups.
We engage in innovative and action-oriented advocacy and campaigning to drive meaningful change through open-source documentation practices and knowledge production.

Pax Memoria is a non-profit organization dedicated to capturing and humanizing environmental narratives in crises-affected areas. We focus on reviving the human element in digital memories while promoting participatory knowledge production and situated media literacy methods. We are a team made up of passionate individuals who have seen how media has played a crucial role in shaping our perspectives and understanding of the world. With that in mind, we strive to create a more inclusive and trustworthy media landscape.
Our Mission
As our name suggests, we are driven by the power of memory to advance narratives for sustainable peace. We are committed to doing this by humanizing the digital documentation of crises using a climate justice framework. To do this, we dedicated ourselves to promoting feminist and participatory approaches to documentation, empowered community organizing, media literacy, and misinformation prevention. We believe that these branches of our work will help counter authoritarian narratives.

Our vision is to build a deeper understanding of the climate impact of conflicts and crises and facilitate a more informed and inclusive society. Our ultimate goal is to uphold justice and counter misinformation, one story at a time.
We envision a world where media empowers individuals, bridges divides, and brings about positive social change; a media ecosystem that values accuracy, diversity, and empathy where everyone has access to reliable information.

Youth Media Literacy
We are committed to promoting youth media literacy through innovative projects that aim to counter climate and conflict misinformation. By empowering young people with media and climate literacy skills, they become critical consumers of information.
Capacity Building
We offer comprehensive capacity building through specialized training, personalized mentorship, and localized open-source tools to enhance the skills and efforts of journalists, activists, climate justice, and human rights groups.
Climate Advocacy
We engage in climate advocacy and campaigning through innovation and action. We believe in driving meaningful change through efforts in memorialisation and knowledge. We strive to ensure climate justice and promote a more inclusive society.
Independence & Transparency
We are fully independent and do not accept funding from governments directly involved in conflicts in our regions of focus. We are committed to financial transparency by making visible who has funded our work.

NAWA Media
Through our NAWA Media Program, we work with early-career journalists in conflict-afflicted areas to empower them with the necessary tools and knowledge to navigate their complex media landscapes across several projects. We provide dedicated resources as well as training and fellowship opportunities to support and develop journalists' capabilities in using open-source data in their contexts.
Climate Counternarratives
The Climate Counternarratives Program highlights the significance of a climate justice framework in conflict reporting and documentation. By employing a blend of ethnographic and open-source investigation methods that foster reflection and engagement, we curate counter-narratives on the environmental impacts of war and crises.
Capacity Building
Our Capacity Building Program is crafted for those who seek to diversify and deepen their professional expertise with a particular focus on environmental reporting and advocacy. We offer a range of trainings and mentorship opportunities, each uniquely designed to cater to the diverse needs of our participants. We particularly work with journalists, activists, human rights defenders and groups to provide the resources and support necessary for success in these challenging fields.

§ 1. Ideella föreningens namn och säte
Den ideella föreningen, fortsatt benämnd "föreningen", kallas Pax Memoria och har säte i Malmö.
§ 2. Ideellt ändamål
Föreningens arbete ska bedrivas som an allmännyttig förening med syfte att främja internationell tolerans och ömsesidig förståelse mellan olika länder och kulturer för att uppnå fred på global nivå.
§ 3-4. Medlemsskap
Föreningen är öppen för samtliga, över 18 år, som delar föreningens ändamål och följer dess stadgar.
§ 5. Finansiering
För att finansiera sin verksamhet kan Pax Memoria motta och förvalta penningmedel och värdepapper.
§ 6. Årsmöte
Årsmöte skall hållas senast 30 june på tid och plats som styrelsen bestämmer.
