About Us

Nawa Media is a program of Pax Memoria, a non-profit organisation which operates globally to help human rights defenders effectively use digital documentation of human rights violations and international crimes to support advocacy, justice, and accountability. 

Nawa Media focuses on documenting and preserving evidence of human rights abuses in Lebanon. We are human rights defenders, lawyers, archivists, technologists, and open-source investigators dedicated to preserving, memorialising and adding value to publicly available information related to human rights violations. We use our unique position as a cross-sectorial, cross-disciplinary organisation to help human rights defenders hold power to account.

About the Opportunity 

We are looking for an Open Source Investigation Trainer to deliver a comprehensive training program aimed at equipping  journalists, researchers, and investigators with the skills and knowledge to conduct effective open-source investigations. The trainer will lead a 5-day online training program, with hands-on exercises and group discussions, for the Nawa Media research team and partners. The trainer will cover various topics, tools, and techniques that enable participants to gather, analyse, and verify information from publicly available sources.

The Trainer will work closely with the assigned team member to conduct a pre-training assessment to gauge the needs of the participants and develop the relevant training methodology and materials. The Open Source Investigation Trainer will report and provide regular updates on participants’ progress and any adjustments made to the training program. The trainer will also collaborate with the program team to evaluate the training program’s overall success and identify improvement areas.
